BLOOD RELATIVES - A True Story of Family Secrets and Murders - proves that truth is stranger than fiction. Investigation Discovery (ID) TV aired a partly fictionalized dramatization loosely based on this book. Now read the real story. This is a "who done it" with twists and turns and multiple murders you won't see coming. The characters and events are real - including "the woman who legalized abortion in America" and her children who are caught up in complex family relationships resulting from adoption, abortion, incest, greed and corruption. Just as one may hand down a family recipe, this story, which takes the reader from the 1960s to the present, provides an intriguing mix of Southern pride and prejudice, mystery, motives and murders. Turn up the heat, stir in the action, add a pinch of reasonable doubt, allow to simmer, and feed your craving for a bloody tale.

ADOPTED KILLERS - 430 Adoptees Who Killed - How and Why They Did It. This book provides names, faces and voices to 430 adoptees who killed for an in-depth look at how and why they killed as compared to non-adoptees who killed. A wealth of true stories and information is amassed with all sources noted. Of the 430 adoptees categorized by type of victims, 235 killed their adoptive parents and/or adoptive relatives; 86 killed individuals who were strangers; 76 are known serial killers; 19 are mass murderers including school shooters; 14 killed their biological parents; 46 were victims of sex abuse and/or were abusers; 31 were executed; 14 committed suicide. Most were not determined to be “mentally ill” at trial. The reasons for their crimes are often over-simplified in media with “G-words” such as Greed (inheritance), Guns (accessibility), Genetics (Mom or Dad was crazy or criminal), or Godlessness (pure evil). They've been telling us the REAL reasons but have we been listening? A section on Alternatives and Resources offers hope for helping to prevent more “monsters.”
Includes Photos, Killers Index and General Index.
KONDRO - The “Uncle Joe” Killer
Why did Joseph Kondro, who started life as a normal, healthy kid, raised by decent adoptive parents, become a child rapist-killer? For the first time, the killer reveals how he took a whole community’s children, and why the whole community kept his secrets as he “inhaled the last breaths” of his young victims.
Rage! How an Adoption Ignited a Fire – When Greg Mox murdered both of his loving adoptive parents, he bludgeoned them, slashed their throats, poured gasoline on their bodies and set them on fire. Media always asks “why” when such crimes occur but rarely have answers. The author investigated and interviewed Greg Mox over time and has given him a voice to explain in his own words WHY he did it. Chapters detail his adoption story, family relationships, the murders, his trial, and his search for his “birth” family.
SERIAL KILLERS ON THE INTERSTATE
200 Highway Killers by State
Now in both Paperback and Kindle eBook, this unique by-state collection details over 200 Serial Killers who either picked up or disposed of their victims along America's highways and truck stops. Included are their known victims' identities and the nicknames that media attached to their apparent “M.O.” or victim type – such as “The Bra Murderer, “The Co-Ed Killer,” “The Flat Tire Killer,” “The Orange Socks Killer,” “The Freeway Killer,” “The Trash Bag Killer,” etc.
The FBI tells us that 6,000 people per year die at the hands of serial killers and that close to 300 Highway Serial Killers, specifically, are currently on the loose in the United States, prowling the nation – especially those who are among the 3.5-million truckers on the road today. Long-haul truckers who pick up prey in one state often dump the body several states away. And they are in every state – California and Texas having the largest number of such serial killers, but even the smallest states thought to be the “safest” have their share of these predators. So if you're offered a ride by a smiling stranger. Be afraid… Be very afraid. 276 pages. Photos; Indexed.
JAMES MUNRO – And the Freeway Killers. Like Forrest Gump, Jim Munro grew up with multiple physical and mental handicaps to overcome. Unlike Gump who was a likable movie hero and was liked in real life, Jim Munro was never liked – not by his American parents who adopted him from a German orphanage and then discarded him, nor by those who knew about his lifestyle and association with Bill Bonin, California's Freeway Killer.
To unravel Jim Munro for this book, it was necessary to include graphic descriptions of his activities and behaviors, including when he was in the wrong place at the wrong time with Bill Bonin and the body of one of Bonin's many young male victims. That mistake resulted in almost 40 years in prison at this writing, despite that he never killed or injured anyone. Accomplice or victim or both? You be the judge
ESPOSITO - The Notorious Man From Italy
JOE ESPOSITO – his origins, his life, even his death – has long been shrouded in mystery and folklore. In the late 1880s, the FBI dubbed him “the first Mafioso” while Italian, British, New York, Chicago and New Orleans newspapers depicted him as “the first international serial killer.”
Orphaned at birth, he adopted multiple identities, trying on new ones as one would try on new clothes. The author brings him to life against vivid backdrops of post-Civil War Sicily and New Orleans people, politics and places, including plantations, brothels, docks, a New York courtroom and the infamous “escape proof” island prison known as “Italy's Alcatraz.”
But to discover the “real” Joe Esposito, we meet Serafina, the petite, bodacious and strikingly beautiful Sicilian woman who had almost as many aliases as Esposito and for whom Joe endeavored to “walk the line.” The truth as to whether “Panama Joe” and Serafina were an Italian “Bonnie and Clyde” makes their story all the more compelling.
FRAMED! The Carefully Crafted Central Coast Rapist. Eight women cried “Me Too” and Joe Garcia, the Central Coast Serial Rapist, got a Life sentence. There’s just one problem. A serial rapist never existed in San Luis Obispo County, California. And Joe Garcia never raped anyone. Amid today's powerful #MeToo movement, there have been a barrage of accusations of sexual misconduct against powerful men in a variety of industries. It’s a very scary time for young men in America. While recovery from Rape can be a nightmarish long process, there is no recovery for someone falsely accused – life, family and career are gone. Joe Garcia has been waiting 30 years for justice.

ADOPTION UNCENSORED - 4 Decades of Politics, People and Commentary
Some states have passed varying degrees of “open records” compromise legislation to enable adult adoptees access to their own original birth certificates and meet their biological families who wish to connect. For over 40 years, the hard work by now-elderly adoption activists, many of whom have already passed away, laid the groundwork. The extent of the politics, people, and their commentary on sealed records and other adoption issues cannot be contained in a single volume, but this collection of chronological letters, published feature stories and op-eds, serves to supplement “CHOSEN CHILDREN – People, Politics and America’s Failed Foster Care and Adoption Industries,” and “THE ADOPTION and DONOR CONCEPTION FACTBOOK” for America’s next generation of adoption reform activists and abolitionists. It is they who will truly open records nationwide and replace adoption as we have known it with better expressions of individualized child custody and accountability... because America CAN do better for it’s (adopted and non-adopted) children and families. Photos. Indexed.
ADOPT-A-QUOTE - A Collection of Feelings - 400 Inspirational Quotes, Slogans, Poems By & For Those Touched By Adoption -
has 8 chapters, according to the groups to whom they apply: Adoptees, Birth Mothers, Birth Fathers, Birth Siblings, Adoptive Mothers, Adoptive Fathers, Adoption Activists
and Adoption Authors. ADOPT-A-QUOTE was compiled because adoption has a language all its own. Since 1950, the "language of adoption" has most often been silently
expressed in the grief of loss, the fantasy or origins, and by passive and active searches for information, biological relatives, and acceptance, while the adoption industry
has controlled public perceptions about adoption. This giftable book is intended to especially support and inspire those still struggling to express their untold stories.

CARANGELO v. CONNECTICUT – A Case of Lifelong Opposition to Government Protected Child Stealing
“Carangelo v. Connecticut” was neither won nor lost. This book explains how my child was “legally” stolen in 1969 and other children continue to be “legally” stolen. Today, the federal Child Abuse and Prevention Act (CAPTA), and the Adoption and Safe Families Act (ASFA), intended to help children and families, have more blatantly terrorized and torn families apart for forced adoptions while financially rewarding their kidnappers – government protected child stealing. This book is for adoption reform activists, attorneys, law students, writers, researchers and anyone who is part of half the United States population who have had an adoption or relinquishment for adoption in their immediate family.

THE 8 BALL CAFE - Stories of Adoption, Addiction and Redemption

This book provides a rare, intimate look at how and why this occurs, as drug addicted adoptees, Noah Stone (in Part 1), Tom McGee (in Part 2), and 31 other adoptees (in Part 3) reveal in their own words the common threads that affected their outcomes.

TAKING TAMAR by Martha Lev-Zion (formerly published by Access Press in Y-2000 when it was sub-titled
“Open Adoption, Down Syndrome & Unconditional Love,”);
it was later published in 2006 as a Paperback, and in 2011 for Kindle, by Avotaynu, a Jewish Genealogy publisher in New Haven, CT. “TAKING TAMAR” is about a mother’s experiences adopting and bringing up a child with Down syndrome despite the many physical, mental and bureaucratic issues involved. In 1986, Martha Lev-Zion, a single woman in her 40s, heard about a TV documentary regarding 22 children with severe birth defects who had been “abandoned” by their birth parents in Israeli hospitals. Martha applied for one of those babies, but was told that of the 65 applications received, hers would be the last one considered. In the end, with only one baby remaining, Martha took into her care a 14-month-old girl with Down syndrome. This book relates the amazing journey of Martha’s life raising her daughter Tamar. When she was 14 months old, Tamar was tested and found to have an IQ of between 45-60. Today she is a young woman of 21, living independently, with a job as an assistant secretary at a university. She still has some of the characteristics of a person with Down syndrome, but Martha’s commitment to maximize Tamar’s potential is something Martha feels any parent should do in rearing ANY child. [Unfortunately, Martha and their social worker would not allow Tamar’s biological mother to maintain contact with Tamar, while Tamar’s biological aunt and grandfather were eventually permitted to do so.]

LIZZIE’S WISHES – by Marybeth Budd, an adoptee born in Vancouver, Washington in 1944 as Mary Elizabeth Meek, granddaughter of Elizabeth Ward Meek (“Lizzie”) – was published by Access Press in 1999 and is now Out Of Print – but some of Budd’s poems are now included in “ADOPT-A-QUOTE”
MY LIFE AS A BORDERLINE – by Lea Ann Burton, was the first book written from the perspective of a then-24-year old Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) patient. The list of 8 BPD symptoms include suicidal threats or self-mutilating behaviors and a lack of a clear sense of identity. The book, which began as “therapy,” and included an Introduction by her therapist, became a dramatic page-turner as Lea Ann’s story unfolds to reveal her multiple abandonments, traumatic relationships, experiences and reactions from early childhood, and the day she took a shotgun to her psychologist’s office because she was angry with her, and evolved into an abuse survivor’s success story – one that may be helpful to others similarly traumatized, including fostered and adopted kids.
The Bibliography provides books by professionals, websites and resources worldwide, and an Index.
Published by Access Press as an Amazon Paperback in Y-2000, it is now Out Of Print.
